Operations Technical and Systems Support (OTSS) is a fast-paced team responsible for the support of applications used to assist the operations team in Service Availability, Change, Problem, Incident Management and Application Performance.

 

Also within OTSS is the Corporate IT Solutions Team (CITS) who are responsible for the development and support of the ERP solutions.  The team has accountability for the tracking of all server and application asset inventory for Bell Canada and its affiliates.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-initiating, and detail oriented individual who has the ability to troubleshoot and analyse technical issues. The individual should also be able to Interpret Business and Technical requirements to scale and support the existing infrastructure and solution.

 

This role will also require you to work closely with internal and external team members to drive the successful delivery of the ongoing program.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Discovery of server and software assets using discovery software such as ServiceNow and Micro Focus Universal Discovery
  • Manage and track server assets and inventory
  • Work with Vendors / Partners and internal support staff to resolve discrepancies
  • Provide communications to internal business groups
  • Identify Hardening opportunities or areas to streamline or optimize processes


Critical Competencies

  • Network troubleshooting skills: comprehension of firewalls, routing, subnetting
  • System administrator knowledge for Windows/UNIX/Linux
  • Understanding of relational databases IE:SQL & Oracle
  • Strong analytical skills to drive continual improvement
  • Excellent MS Office skills (PowerPoint/Word/Excel)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communications skills (Written and Verbal)


Preferred Competencies

  • Understanding of ServiceNow discovery
  • Familiarity with Microfocus products such as Asset Manager and Universal Discovery (uCMDB)
  • Visio
  • Kubernetes / Docker
  • Containerized applications /Micro service runtime
  • ITIL V4 certification 


Working Conditions

  • May require evening and weekend work
  • Work location is Mississauga, Ottawa or Montreal

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
