Summary

 

The Special Event Technical Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of multiple special events. This role requires a proactive and organized individual who can lead a technical team, manage project timelines, and ensure seamless technical operations under pressure and within tight deadlines. The coordinator will serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, managing their expectations and providing innovative solutions

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the technical delivery team comprising technicians and senior technical resources for event setup and teardown.
  • Oversee the deployment of various technical services, including internet connectivity, network infrastructure, Wi-Fi solutions, broadcast systems, and other event-specific technologies.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute technical operations for multiple events simultaneously, often on short notice and for limited durations.
  • Act as the main escalation point for technical issues, diagnosing problems, and implementing effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, understanding their technical requirements, providing expert advice, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Develop accurate technical estimates and proposals for clients, outlining scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Manage event budgets, track expenses, oversee billing processes, and ensure financial adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure resource availability and optimal deployment.
  • Conduct post-event technical reviews to identify areas for improvement and document lessons learned.

Critical Qualifications

 

  • Proficiency in network infrastructure design, deployment, and troubleshooting (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with broadcast technologies.
  • Understanding of internet connectivity solutions and bandwidth management.
  • Familiarity with IT security principles relevant to event environments.
  • Ability to quickly assess and resolve technical challenges in dynamic settings.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.

Additional Skills

 

  • Experience in event management or production is a strong asset.
  • Certifications in relevant networking or IT fields.
  • Familiarity with event-specific software or platforms.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and rapidly changing event requirements.
