Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist II to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data science principles, advanced technical skills, and the ability to independently lead complex projects. This role requires a proven track record of success in developing and implementing innovative data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data science objectives and translate them into actionable strategies.
- Design, develop, and implement advanced predictive models and machine learning algorithms, including deep learning models, to solve complex business problems.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets (structured and unstructured) to uncover hidden trends, patterns, and insights.
- Implement robust data quality control measures and ensure data integrity throughout the entire data lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain efficient data collection and preprocessing pipelines, including automation of data ingestion processes.
- Create insightful data visualizations and presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Propose innovative and data-driven solutions to address challenging business issues.
- Refactor and optimize existing models, conduct rigorous testing, and monitor model performance.
- Identify and evaluate new data sources to enhance the value and scope of data-driven insights.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science methodologies and best practices within the organization.
Critical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role.
- Cloud foundational certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect). Specify preferred certifications if applicable.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (Python preferred).
- Extensive experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras – specify preferred frameworks).
- Demonstrated expertise in a wide range of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and reusable code.
- Strong understanding of various data types and formats, including experience with both structured and unstructured data.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience with specific industry-relevant datasets or technologies.
- Publication record in data science or related fields.
- Contributions to open-source projects or personal data science projects (portfolio encouraged).

Experience working with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow or similar IT service management (ITSM) tools.
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
