Position Description

Bell Business Markets is recruiting for a dynamic, results focused Director of Product Management for Network within the National Network and Security practice. Product Management & Development accountability for the role spans our Business Internet, Private Networks SDWAN and Cloud Networking solutions. The position is accountable to drive the development and execution of our Strategy and Business Plans for the product portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and evolving roadmaps for products across all stages of the product lifecycle from Introduction through to growth, maturity, decline and product exit. A significant portion of the role requires the management and evolution of BBM’s mature portfolio of Network Connectivity Services. Implicit with this is a requirement to drive the growth of Software based networks, network security and Cloud networking solutions. The successful candidate will lead teams of Product Managers / Developers and is required to work closely with teams across the organization (e.g. Service Delivery, Field Operations, Network Technology and IT) to deliver objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Invest time with our channels / customers to understand customers challenges and needs
  • Identify shifts in market and competition driving opportunity for the portfolio
  • Develop and execute the product roadmap(s) and tactical plans to address market requirements
  • Understand product cost drivers; identify and execute on opportunities to manage / reduce costs
  • Create and manage portfolio performance targets (Revenue, EBITDA, ARPU, Units)
  • Partner with business unit stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Strategic pricing and BI) to identify and drive retention and demand generation
  • Define / manage the execution of our Capital program(s) – New product introduction and evolution
  • Partner with network technology teams on new technology introductions / evolution
  • Coach and mentor product management / developments teams and collaborate with key stakeholders both internally and externally

Qualifications/ Competencies

  • 10 + years experience in product management / product marketing roles with experience leading diverse teams directly and within a matrix environment
  • Deep knowledge of the portfolio products / services with an understanding of the underlying technology  (e.g. MPLS, Ethernet, SD WAN, Wireless – LTE/ 5G, Cloud)
  • Understanding of BBM partners  / OEMS business models and roles in relation the portfolio
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating with clients and within Bell at all levels
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills; understanding of  financial management
  • Experience in working with cross functional teams to develop products, respond to customer proposals and identifying and addressing challenges and opportunities
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Regulatory environment
