Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver solid music programming based on the target audience for each brand
  • Program the musical content for Bell Media Radio stations
  • Create and manage data in the MusicMaster and Wide Orbit systems when adding new releases
  • Create and update playlists and digital stations on iHeart Radio
  • Stay on top of new music releases and trends according to radio formats
  • Suggest concepts for special programming
  • Actively participate in listening committees
  • Frequently listen to stations across the province
  • Conduct weekly follow-ups on francophone, Canadian, and emerging artist percentages
  • Perform ‘reconciliation’ of the musical segments of the stations
  • Calculate station percentages daily and make the appropriate adjustments as needed to stay on target
  • Play a leadership role with hosts to ensure these percentages are understood and respected
  • Generate weekly reports to review the achieved percentages
  • Participate in updating MusicMaster ‘clocks’ for our network stations
  • Program new parameters and updates in the MusicMaster software, both for musical elements and for on-air ‘command’ elements (Wide Orbit)

Critical Qualifications

  • College or university education in a relevant field
  • Excellent knowledge of music (current music and past hits)
  • Knowledge of MusicMaster programming software
  • Good knowledge of radio formats
  • Sociable and a good team player
  • Passionate, curious, and committed
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Public relations skills (interpersonal skills)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Wide Orbit software
  • Knowledge of english required: In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English 
    speaking stakeholders across Canada
  • Creativity

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
