Position: Newscaster Operator, CJAD, Bell Media
Location: Canada: Québec: Montréal
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Job Status: Regular - part time
Position Summary
The Newscaster operator role is a dynamic position which combines journalistic and technical skills. The Newscaster operator researches, writes and presents news updates as part of a team of journalists and programming staff members. The Newscaster operator also assures the broadcast of programs on radio and handles the control room console. This position requires excellent communication skills, on-air confidence, a deep understanding of current events, and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Researching, writing and presenting news updates
- Coordinating with team members at CJAD 800 and across Bell Media
- Publishing content to digital platforms including social media
- Preparing various radio programs and operating the console
- All other related tasks
Critical Qualifications
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree in journalism
- Radio or television experience
- Knowledge of local, national and international news
- Excellent communication and interview techniques
- Proficiency in social media
- Analytical and rigorous personality with strong work ethic
- In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English-speaking stakeholders across Canada
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
