Newscaster/Technical Producer, CJAD 800

Under the Program Director at CJAD 800, we have a Newscaster/Technical producer open position.  Our mission is simple: inform, entertain and provide a voice to Montrealers.  News Talk Radio CJAD 800 is Montreal's "go to" for compelling conversation and frequent news, weather and traffic.   You want to be part of this mission and join our award-winning team. Here is a summary of the responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operation of the console in CJAD 800 master control
  • Identifying, collecting, and editing audio elements for use inside programming
  • Contributing actively to on-air segments
  • Preparing, writing and delivering on-air newscasts
  • Posting text, audio, video on-line as needed
  • Other tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in radio broadcasting or equivalent plus two years related experience.
  • Knowledge and interest in News with ability to clearly articulate ideas.
  • Energetic, positive, hard-working and self-motivated.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Comfort with computer skills working and well-developed technical know-how.
  • Creative skills to enhance the imaging of the show.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Bilingualism preferred or willingness to learn.

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
