Reports to: General Manager, Entertainment, Lifestyle and Documentary.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the development and production of Bell Media’s channel and platform content – Entertainment, Lifestyle and Documentary Division
  • Identifying the content projects received and keeping the various internal and external stakeholders informed of developments
  • Evaluating all components of the original production projects submitted (concept, budget, team) to make the best recommendations
  • Supervising and approving all stages of the main content elements: preproduction, reading and approval of screenplays, viewing and follow-up with the company’s various departments: communications, legal, finance, etc.
  • Evaluating the quality of the content produced against a predefined mandate and vision and consumer interest, and recommending changes as needed
  • Taking part in strategic reflections on Entertainment, Lifestyle and Documentary content relating to the various platforms
  • Generating ideas and organizing brainstorming sessions in order to develop creative and innovative content in collaboration with content team members and other stakeholders
  • Monitoring competitors’ content in Quebec and abroad and keeping up to date with major television trends
  • Managing projects and following up on their productions with the various departments relating to their sector
  • Working closely with the heads of TV, radio and digital content, sales, communications, marketing, technical operations and research, in order to optimize project impact, discoverability and revenues
  • Ensuring that standards relating to the CMF’s development and production envelope are met
  • Establishing priorities in project management
  • Carrying out any other related tasks

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or an equivalent field
  • Seven years of experience in television, more specifically in content production and/or in a programming unit
  • Very good knowledge of the Quebec television milieu and digital trends
  • Knowledge of the business environment (major asset)
  • Ability to get the best from the production teams and reconcile interpersonal relationships
  • Good listening skills and a willingness to hear out different opinions. Expresses themselves and acts with tact and diplomacy in their relationships with others and facilitates discussion.
  • Relevant experience in budget, team and project management
  • Analytical skills, autonomy, acute sense of the responsibilities and aptitudes required for teamwork
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation and vision in regard to content
  • Quickness to adapt to changes, and ability to manage change with the teams
  • Good ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
