Our Corporate Security & Responsibility, Communications, Human Resources, Procurement & Value Creation and Real Estate teams work collaboratively to drive our corporate strategy forward.

Within Corporate services is Bell’s Threat Intelligence (CTI) team, which identifies, tracks, and analyzes cyber threats facing the BCE family of companies and the customers of the BBM CTI service.  To support this mission, the Corporate Security Threat Intelligence Team is looking for an experienced geek who has a love of software, tools and data wrangling to support the team go through the vast amounts of data we deal with in a typical day.  The ideal candidate has a good blend of data analysis, ad hoc tools development, and knowledge of the cutting edge open source toolsets to support data management, threat analysis, and the development of supervised machine learning models. They will develop scripts, technologies, and software to ingest, integrate and manipulate data from a variety of different sources and will be responsible for doing data exploration/analytics to build data repositories for cyber security solutions. They will create processes and code for data ingestion, data staging, statistical analysis, and pre/ post processing for use by other Bell systems.  Additionally they will support the development of in-house solutions for threat feed ingestion, processing, and integration to the other data platforms used by the team.   


Most importantly, the candidate will have experience with the academic community, as the CTI supports the growth of the next generation of cyber threat analysts through its partnerships with a variety of universities, including the integration of graduate and post-graduate students for threat assessments and machine learning model development.



For this position, we are looking for the following skills & experience:

  • 5+ years experience with programming with languages such as Java, C, Python, Perl, Shell, and SQL scripting languages
  • 5+ years experience with the installation and configuration of common, open source packages from Github, via Docker, or the variety of other of bleeding edge but trusted sources.
  • 3+ years experience of IT infrastructure and system architectures.
  • 3+ years experience with networking (IPv4 and IPv6 routing) and network services (DNS, SMTP).
  • 3+ years experience with a variety of data storage technologies, such as ELK, Hadoop, Splunk, etc.
  • 3+ years experience with data engineering – assessing data to find errors and omissions and variances, producing code to clean the data, dealing with missing, incomplete, or incorrect data, transform the data into appropriate format and ensure the quality of data.
  • 3+ years experience Log/data collection and management methods and tools such as logstash, filebeat, rsync, amongst others.
  • 3+ years experience with streaming Technology (Kafka, Flink, Storm, Spark, Spark-Streaming);
  • Ideally some experience and understanding Machine Learning methods and modelling (supervised, unsupervised, deviation analysis, graph theory, visualization techniques)

Other qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Computer Science or the equivalent in years of experience.
  • Existing Secret clearance or ability to obtain is an asset; The successful candidate must successfully go through background verifications including but not limited to criminal record and reputational checks




Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
