Summary

The BCE Tax Group is responsible for managing all of the tax affairs of the BCE/Bell group of companies, including income, sales and utility taxes.  The BCE Tax Group also participates in special projects involving Legal, Treasury, M&A and Operations.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review of the monthly, quarterly and year-end tax provision of Canadian corporations;
  • Preparation of annual true-up entries for Canadian corporations;
  • Preparation and documentation of corporate tax returns and partnership information returns, and other tax documents for Canadian corporations and partnerships (eg: tax elections, disclosures, 2% tax on share buy back, etc)
  • Responsible for the monthly tax installments of Canadian corporations;
  • Responsible for government audits of Canadian corporations, including answering queries and drafting memos in support of tax positions;
  • Responsible for monthly and annual budget, long term plan and cash taxes forecast of Canadian corporations;
  • Perform research on tax issues and prepare/review memos in support of tax positions;
  • Calculation of adjusted cost base / paid-up capital in Canadian entities
  • Assist the Tax Director or VP Taxation in special projects, as required

Critical Qualifications

  • University degree with professional accounting designation or lawyer title with strong accounting skills;
  • Master’s Degree in tax or CICA In-Depth tax course I and II completed (or equivalent);
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant corporate tax experience;
  • Strong tax accounting knowledge;
  • Solid organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Computer literate (Microsoft office, Taxprep);
  • Knowledge of SAP, Alteryx and AI tools is an asset
  • In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
