Description:
The System Administrator will be relevant to the system admin manager.  He has the responsibility to perform different activities to provide an excellent customer services as a System administrator for our internal or external customer.

 

This is an operational position. (Syst Admin Lev. 1).  This position coulf be on rotation shift. (Day, evening or night shift)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Quickly handles incidents according to customer service levels. Diagnoses and resolves incidents by ensuring that Bell Canada criteria and procedures are followed.
  • Documents any action taken during; release, incident troubleshooting / resolution or service request.  Follow up with customers and suppliers.
  • Handles releases and service request for as a System Administrator in keeping with Bell Canada criteria and procedures (ITIL).
  • Use the management tools provide to the team to optimize down time during the incident and/or the release. (Maximo, LEMSS, SCOM)
  •  Participates in the customer projects through releases (deployment/migration) by following the project calendar.
  • Ensures the data integrity captured within the management tools and makes any necessary changes to ensure the data reflects the customers’ production environment. 
  • As needed, acts as the customer’s point of contact and handles and communicate with your colleagues and management team. Ensure to follow the escalation process. 

 

Knowledge:

  • College level diploma in computer science in progress with a specialization as a System Administrator Unix/Linux with at least one year completed.
  • Mandatory: Bilingual
  • Asset: Knowledge on virtualization concept
  • Asset: Knowledge on one or many applications among NetBackup, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle et Apache
  • Asset: Knowledge on Network and Security concept
  • Asset: Knowledge on the following tool can be useful ; LEMSS, Patchlink, SCOM, Nagios, Zabbix, ect…
  • Asset: Knowledge or Agile methodology

 

Aptitudes:

  • A candidate with great interpersonal and oral and written communication skills (a good sense of humor would be a plus)
  • A candidate with a passion for system administration (Linux or Windows OS); but if you think you can take up the challenge with less experience, throw yourself
  • A candidate who has a lot of autonomy within a group where the other accounts on him as much as he counts on others
  • A candidate who can demonstrate analytical reasoning is the time to use Philo's courses
  • A candidate who can be effective under pressure, without however
  • A candidate who wants to solve problems


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
