The Network Application Service Management (NASM), of Bell Canada’s Network Infrastructure Services team, is currently looking for a Software Developer to develop solutions that will enable us to automate the following areas: security governance, asset onboarding, and asset data collection in support of industry best practises. 


Key Responsibilities would include:

  • Designs, develops  and deploys web based applications and automation solutions
  • Designs and builds Interfaces with Network elements and back office systems to collect data in real time and batch mode
  • Ensures compatibility of applications across multiple platforms and browsers
  • Skills and Experience:
  • University degree in computer science, management information systems, or engineering
  • Strong Mathematical and analytical skills
  • Autonomous, very dynamic, capable of decision-making
  • High capacity to learn, work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • 2 years or more experience with multiple mainstream programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, C#, Go, etc.


Job Duties/Accountabilities

  • Reporting to a Senior IS Manager, the Software Developer is a critical function within the Bell security mandate. This includes developing and maintaining strong in-house software and possessing the data skills necessary to support our automation and decision-making needs.
  • The Software Developer will:
  • Prepare complex reports and software tools required to plan, design, monitor and operate complex telecom networks
  • Solve complex problems and be required to deliver new solutions and new perspectives/concepts
  • Assume project lead and accountability for ongoing activities and delivery of objectives
  • Influence and engage internal teams to adopt key industry trends
  • Challenge the way we work to remove waste and bring value to our customers
  • Translate business needs into holistic solutions
  • Possess excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with multiple stakeholders.
  • Have a passion for improvement and an ability to prioritize and drive change in a complex environment are required.


Required Qualifications:

  • Strong Communication skills
  • Self-Motivated
  • Uses Agile methodology in all aspects of development from prototype to delivery of end product
  • IT security – Operating systems, networks, applications, encryption
  • Hardware, software and OS, including Windows, UNIX, Linux, UBUNTU, RHEL −  Installation and configuration of servers
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in designing and implementing Web-Based reporting solutions
  • Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements web applications using a variety of languages and platforms including HTML5, Java, PHP, Python, AJAX, Javascript, ASP, C#, Perl, XML., SVG, Canvas, WebGL, Ansible, Zabbix, RestAPI
  • Makes use of multiple software libraries including JQuery, AngularJS, JSON, AJAX, Netconf, Yaml, Salt Stack to develop efficient code






Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
