Bell Media Radio is seeking an experienced News Reporter & Announcer to join the team in Penticton, BC.   You should have a passion for news and radio, good technical capabilities and a genuine interest in the current events of our communities.  Bell Media’s SunFM and EZ Rock stations serve listeners in the South Okanagan, including Osoyoos, Penticton and Summerland. 



  • Develop and report morning radio newscasts
  • Build a trusted network of contacts and information within the community.
  • Attend community events, develop and chase news stories and follow up on files.
  • Update news on station social media
  • Find the local and or regional angle to provincial and national stories.
  • Work with team members to brainstorm story ideas and co-ordinate news events.
  • Other news-department duties as assigned by the News Director


Skill Requirements

  • Broadcast (radio) journalism education from a recognized institution strongly preferred.
  • Prior broadcast experience (at least one year out of school)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and/or frequently un-supervised
  • Proven initiative with ability to generate at least three stories per day.
  • Experienced technical skills combined with good on-air delivery.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Mature, calm and professional manner
  • Able to take instruction with ease; willing to learn
  • Represent Bell Media with integrity, respect and mature judgment
  • A valid driver’s license (abstract will be required)



Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
