Summary
Bell is actively seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Network Infrastructure professional to enhance our technology operations. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the stability and advancement of critical network systems within a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge and a proactive approach to network management and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing Tier 2 technical escalation support, diagnosing intricate network connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues.
- Ensuring the optimal performance, availability, and security of the organization's comprehensive network infrastructure.
- Understanding dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP across multi-site networks.
- Collaborating effectively with system administrators, cybersecurity analysts, network analysts and other specialists within the team.
- Utilizing and managing sophisticated network monitoring platforms like SolarWinds for real-time performance analysis and proactive issue detection.
- Actively monitoring security alerts and events from FortiSIEM and Radware consoles.
- Assisting in identifying, assessing, and prioritizing vulnerabilities within our network and systems.
- Actively supporting the complex and rigorous change management procedures
Critical Qualifications
- 4+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering or network operations.
- Government of Quebec security clearance: Must be able to pass the Quebec Government security clearance process.
- Bachelor's degree qualification in Computer Engineering, Network Administration, or a comparable technical discipline.
- Proven proficiency with network analysis tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and packet capture techniques.
- Solid understanding of fundamental networking concepts including the OSI model, TCP/IP suite, and DNS resolution processes.
- Familiarity with network management protocols like SNMP and Syslog for centralized logging and monitoring.
- Technical Proficiency: Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network protocols, and operating systems. Experience with large, multi-site networks.
- Hands-on Experience: Practical experience with network and security technologies such as firewalls (Fortinet), VPNs, and SIEM platforms (FortiSIEM).
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to analyze network and security events and identify potential threats to security and network performance.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
- Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work on-call for off-hours support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience configuring and maintaining stateful firewall policies and network address translation (NAT).
- Experience establishing and troubleshooting secure tunneling protocols like IPsec and SSL VPNs.
- A minimum knowledge and/or certifications of Fortinet products and appliances (Fortigates, FortiManager etc…) is required
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching certification.
- Possession of supplementary certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA, or Palo Alto PCNSA is strongly advantageous.
- Demonstrated practical experience configuring and managing Cisco Catalyst and ISR router platforms.
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
