On the Bell Business Markets team, you’ll be a vital part of making innovation happen for enterprise-scale customers. You’ll deliver advanced solutions in areas such as IoT, Mobility/5G, Cloud, Cyber Security, Voice, Collaboration & Contact Centre and Internet & Private Networks.

We are seeking an experienced Network Operations and Migration Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of complex network infrastructures. In addition to daily operational activities, this individual will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of network modernization and migration projects, including the deployment of advanced technologies such as SD-WAN. This role will support clients in the Quebec City region. The successful candidate must be located in the Quebec City region. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations and Maintenance

  • Ensure Optimal Network Performance: Manage, configure, operate, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and Performance Management: Continuously monitor network performance and security while ensuring compliance with established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Incident Management: Manage the full incident lifecycle, from complex troubleshooting and diagnosis through resolution, while thoroughly documenting all interventions.
  • Security Administration: Administer enterprise security policies, firewall rules, and VPN access controls.

2. Network Migration and Modernization

  • Project Management: Plan, design, and lead network equipment migration projects, architecture upgrades, and new site deployments.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Analyze existing environments and propose innovative solutions and optimized architectures aligned with business requirements.
  • Technology Deployment: Deploy and configure advanced technologies such as SD-WAN, including application-aware routing policies and Quality of Service (QoS) configurations.
  • Critical Technology Transitions: Lead migration initiatives involving critical technology services, such as firewall replacements and remote access solution upgrades.

3. Support and Documentation

  • Technical Advisory Role: Serve as a technical expert and provide guidance to internal clients and operational teams regarding networking and telecommunications requests.
  • Documentation Management: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Actively contribute to onboarding, training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.

Critical Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the administration, operation, and migration of enterprise network environments.
  • Network Security
  • Strong expertise with next-generation firewall and security technologies, particularly Fortinet solutions.
  • SD-WAN Expertise
  • Hands-on experience deploying, operating, and supporting SD-WAN environments.
  • Routing and Switching
  • Strong technical knowledge of routing protocols and switching technologies, including:
    • BGP
    • OSPF
    • VLANs
    • STP
    • LACP
    • Related Infrastructure
  • Knowledge of virtualization environments and directory services.

 

Preferred Certifications

  • Industry-recognized networking certifications, such as:
  • CCNP
  • Fortinet NSE
  • Equivalent network certifications

Professional Skills

  • Strong self-management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and methodical approach.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a high degree of autonomy.

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
