Position: Promotion Coordinator, CTV Saskatchewan

Location: 1 Highway East, Regina (SK)

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

 

Role: Looking for a dynamic individual to create and coordinate innovative news promotion and community engagement for CTV News in Saskatchewan.

 

Responsibilities:                 

  • Collaborate with our TV News Editorial teams to create, write and produce market leading TV news promotion for on-air, digital & social media
  • Responsible for the production of all TV news promotion including daily topical, ratings promotion and news image promotion
  • Quickly turn around breaking news promos as needed
  • Coordinate promotion and community engagement with Pure Country 92.7 FM radio to maximize radio, digital and social media platforms
  • Participate in daily editorial meetings and weekly promotion/community planning meetings
  • Plan and coordinate community events including scheduling of on-air talent
  • Produce weekly community calendar
  • Coordinate talent and resources for promotions shoots as required
  • Facilitate the distribution of web, radio and print content as necessary
  • Execute news contesting, including rules and regulations
  • Shoot and edit promotional material as needed
  • Act as back-up to other Creative Services staff
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:         

  • A degree or diploma from a post-secondary broadcast, creative communications, or related program, plus minimum of 3 years’ experience in promotion production
  • Previous experience and interest working in a news environment preferred
  • Demonstrated talent for effective promotion writing and producing across all platforms
  • Proven ability to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively direct and coordinate on-air talent to ensure efficient use of production resources
  • Knowledge of broadcast law an asset
  • Experience operating iNews an asset
  • Basic skills with Adobe Creative, Photoshop and After Effects an asset
  • Experience with non-linear editing and shooting an asset
  • Demonstrated desire to work productively as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
