Position:           Video Journalist, CTV Saskatoon, Bell Media

Location:           CTV Saskatoon

Salary:               Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, overtime as required. Weekend and evening assignments as required.

 

 

Reporting to the Director of News and Public Affairs, CTV Saskatoon is seeking a self-starter with superior journalism experience and skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Hosting, producing and writing segments for Indigenous Circle 
  • Generating and pitching original story ideas daily, focusing on local indigenous stories
  • Reporting, script writing and voicing, ENG camera operation & editing
  • Edit and transmit video remotely using IP technology
  • Live reporting
  • Anchoring news and weather as required
  • Editorial decision making
  • Developing & maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in various areas of the local market (economic, political, retail, industrial, law enforcement)
  • Shooting and editing assignments
  • Other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary program and/or related news/sports experience
  • Excellent writing skills and strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills; the ability to work independently
  • Solid editorial judgment
  • Computer literacy; experience in iNews and familiarity with CP style a definite asset
  • Ability to work well in a deadline-driven team environment

 

 

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
