Job Duties:

  • Fully support the General Manager and act as a liaison between the General Manager and all other Bell Media departments:    Original productions, Marketing, Digital, Communications and In-house Production
  • Perform general administrative duties to support the General Manager, Discovery Networks
  • Assist in maintaining the joint venture with Discovery Services International by coordinating monthly meetings with U.S. content and programming teams, preparing power point presentations and assisting in quarterly board deck preparation
  • Support Senior Manager of programming and the scheduling teams by running research reports, program inventory lists and other strategic insights information
  • Ensure Bell Media hits its regulatory and HR obligations.    
  • Annual regional and diversity reporting
  • Organizing and managing Discovery promotional strategy meetings and all key Discovery management meetings
  • Resource for Discovery staff on new/internal programs, i.e. Career Zone, Ariba
  • Act as HR Assistant responsible for Vacation tracking, health and safety, leaves of absence, maintenance of employee files, etc.  
  • General administrative duties for the department; including maintaining staff IT requirements, managing office and space requirements, office supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient organization, planning, scheduling and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, make decisions and prioritize work
  • Personal commitment to confidentiality, ownership and accountability for the success of tasks assigned with a high level of attention to detail and effective follow-up on activity
  • Process oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast paced environment
  • Display strong initiative and anticipate the needs of team
  • Excellent computer skills with commonly used business software, including MS Office Tools – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years working experience as an Executive Assistant
  • Education in Business Administration and/or television/media production
  • Passion for production

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
