Position: Digital Content Producer (IATSE Local 634)
Location: Sudbury, ON
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: Full-Time. 40 hours per week. Shift work and overtime as required.
Responsibilities
- Generate original stories and publish content for our digital platforms
- Gather news elements, chase breaking news, and keep published content updated with new developments
- Proofread and fact check copy using Canadian Press Style ensuring accuracy, consistency and adherence to standards of all online material (headlines, captions, photos, video, etc.)
- Photo and video editing
- Curate high-interest digital content from other CTV News stations and pitch local content for cross-publishing consideration
- Maximize content's discoverability using keywords and SEO practices
- Research, book, and conduct interviews
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of a journalism-specific University or College program
- Prior newsroom and journalism experience
- Must have strong writing skills, communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management, prioritization and multi-tasking abilities and be able to meet constant tight deadlines
- Prior web publishing experience and familiarity with SEO.
- Team player and capable of producing quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of the northern Ontario region an asset
- Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
