Title:  Associate Producer W5

Status:  Temporary – Full Time (1 year contract, could be prolonged)

Location:  9 Channel Nine Court

Salary:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience



  • Propose stories and prepare research for W5
  • Assist with shooting of items
  • Work with producers and reporters
  • Fact check stories
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Experience researching long form current affairs programs, documentaries or chase-producing
  • Experience in news writing, reporting and editing for TV news
  • Experience generating story ideas
  • Ability to develop a story from concept to shooting stage
  • Excellent knowledge of news and current affairs
  • Experience in investigative journalism
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to both work well in a team and be self-motivated
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to both work well in a team and be self-motivated
  • Computer word processing and Internet skills
  • Experience with spread sheets and database organization of research material while not specifically required is considered an asset
  • French or other language skills and a Broadcast or Journalism degree are definite assets




Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
