Bell’s forward-thinking Customer Operations team is creating the ultimate service experience for our residential, wireless and small business consumers. We lead strategic development and execution of day-to-day operations, develop tools and processes to drive service enhancements, manage customer loyalty and retention, and leverage big data and artificial intelligence to create intellectual property.
 

 

In this role, you will expand on cross-segment relationships & communication while helping to build an agile data insight driven culture.  You will spearhead open data design and architecture while developing conditions for a highly effective, technical and analytic innovation.  As Director, you will oversee and provide advisory, strategy and execution support for all Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Governance, Data Engineering & Design to the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Data Science & Business Intelligence teams within the Customer Operations team.

 

 Responsibilities

  • Leading cross functional Machine learning team to support customer experience programs across all of Bell
  • Manage strategic machine learning partner and vendor relationships including start ups, universities and AI vendors
  • Managing internal partnerships across the organization to align and ensure collective AI vision and execution
  • Drive continuous innovation in internal machine learning capabilities and innovations
  • Ownership of the multi year AI/ML roadmap
  • Support a team of approximately 40 employees

 

Critical Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Business Intelligence, Engineering or related fields
  • 5+ years experience in strategy, planning, consulting, analytics or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience
  • Strong understanding of scalable, real time Machine Learning architecture
  • Self Motivation and drive to deliver high-quality solutions on time and on budget
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate across the team and work closely with stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English) with a demonstrable history of developing strong partnerships and cross-team collaboration
  • Strong business acumen, with an appreciation for the opportunities and constraints that accompany an ever-evolving competitive environment
  • Proven project management and change management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Development experience using Python, C/C++, Scala, git
  • Experience in designing and deploying software using one or more of the following frameworks for machine learning and web applications:  TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Spark ML, Torch, Caffe, H2O, Kafka, Flume, NGINX, gUnicorn, Flask, Docker, Kubernetes, noSQL
  • Experience in the telecom sector

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
