Summary
The Financial Close Controller team is seeking a highly motivated Manager to be a part of the Controller organization’s transformative journey towards becoming trusted and valued business partners delivering Financial Results in an entirely new way through best-in-class people, processes and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Accounts Payable function for designated business segments and legal entities, ensuring the timely and accurate execution of invoice processing, payments, and supplier support activities.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and workload management for unionized employee(s) supporting the function.
- Serve as the Accounts Payable liaison for third parties that own all or part of the designated business segments and legal entities.
- Develop a strong understanding of applicable Support Services Agreements (SSAs) and ensure Accounts Payable activities are performed in accordance with agreed-upon responsibilities and service levels.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and reporting to monitor service levels, operational effectiveness, compliance, and team capacity.
- Foster effective collaboration with third-party stakeholders to support timely approvals, resolve any operational issues, and drive improvements where applicable.
- Represent Accounts Payable as a subject matter expert on strategic and operational projects. Partner with stakeholders to assess impacts, define requirements, and support solution design, testing, and implementation.
Critical Qualifications
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting, Business / Commerce or other relevant area.
- CPA considered an asset.
Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in Finance / Accounting or other relevant area.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS applications including Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.
- Proficiency in automation and AI.
- Working knowledge of SAP-FI, SAP-BI, and associated accounting systems considered an asset.
Leadership / People Skills:
- Ownership & Accountability: Demonstrated ownership, initiative and accountability.
- Operational Execution, Service Delivery, and Reporting: Ability to manage day-to-day operational priorities while ensuring timely and accurate execution of functional activities, and to communicate operational results, service levels, risks, and issues in a clear and meaningful way to internal and third-party stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Strong ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and third-party stakeholders to support service delivery and resolve operational issues.
- People Leadership & Coaching: Ability to provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and workload management to employees, fostering accountability, engagement, and effective functional execution.
- Project & Change Leadership: Ability to represent functional area on strategic and operational initiatives, supporting impact assessments, requirements definition, testing, implementation, and change adoption.
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
