Summary
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to spearhead the FIFA 2026 Public Viewing strategy and its comprehensive execution for TSN, Canada's leading sports networks. This pivotal role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in developing and implementing successful public viewing strategies, while expertly managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring seamless operational delivery. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities, a deep understanding of the sports media landscape, and a passion for creating unforgettable fan experiences around the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the comprehensive development and strategic execution of TSN's FIFA 2026 Public Viewing strategy, aligning with overall business objectives and maximizing audience engagement opportunities.
- Assume direct responsibility for the end-to-end planning, diligent organization, and flawless execution of all FIFA 2026 public viewing events across diverse locations.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders, including programming, marketing, sales, and production teams, ensuring seamless alignment and effective communication.
- Develop and diligently manage comprehensive project plans, detailed budgets, and meticulous timelines for all public viewing initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Negotiate effectively with external vendors, event organizers, and location partners to secure optimal terms and conditions for public viewing events, maximizing value and minimizing costs.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop and execute comprehensive promotional campaigns that drive awareness, boost attendance, and generate excitement around TSN's FIFA 2026 public viewing events.
- Closely monitor and meticulously analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to public viewing events, providing regular updates and actionable insights to senior management.
- Identify and proactively mitigate potential risks associated with public viewing events, implementing contingency plans to ensure smooth operations and minimize disruptions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in public viewing and event management, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve TSN's offerings.
Critical Qualifications
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, event management, or a closely related field of study from an accredited academic institution.
- Demonstrated successful experience of at least seven years in event management, with a specific focus on large scale public viewing events or fan engagement activities.
- Possession of a deep understanding of the Canadian sports media landscape, including a strong familiarity with TSN's programming, audience, and strategic priorities.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets and exceeding expectations.
- Extensive experience in diligently managing complex projects from initiation to completion, utilizing project management methodologies and tools, such as Gantt charts and project management software.
- Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including internal teams, external vendors, and community partners, building strong relationships and fostering mutual success.
- Demonstrated proficiency in meticulously managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation to maximize the return on investment for public viewing initiatives.
- In depth knowledge of event safety regulations, risk management protocols, and emergency response procedures, ensuring the safety and well being of all attendees.
- Fluency in both English and French, enabling effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders across Canada, is considered a valuable asset, though not strictly mandatory for this position
Additional Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced negotiation techniques, adeptly securing favorable terms with vendors, sponsors, and venue operators through skillful communication and strategic bargaining.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive strategic plans, meticulously outlining objectives, strategies, and tactics for achieving success in the dynamic landscape of public viewing events.
- Deep understanding of budgetary principles and financial management, skillfully managing resources, controlling costs, and maximizing the return on investment for public viewing initiatives.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles, ensuring that public viewing events are welcoming and accessible to individuals of all abilities, creating an inclusive environment for everyone.
- The role requires availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support the successful execution of public viewing events across various time zones and locations.
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
