Bell Media’s digital content creation team is looking for an entertainment content production superstar who lives and breathes all things social media. Operating in an extremely fast-paced, exciting, and collaborative environment with globally recognized entertainment brands and series, we create digital and social content that is culturally relevant while standing out in the vast landscape of news, entertainment and lifestyle editorial. 


As the Managing Editor, Digital & Social Entertainment Content, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the digital and social strategy for Bell Media’s leading entertainment brand, Etalk - Canada’s most-watched, most-trusted and longest-running entertainment news program. Over the past 20 seasons, Etalk has grown beyond just a television show; we have become an inclusive, multi-platform brand, delivering entertainment news, culture and conversation. We give a platform to marginalized voices. We prioritize diversity and amplify Black, Indigenous and people of colour (BIPOC) at all times.


This role will oversee all digital and social content production as well as manage the daily content output and distribution across platforms, including but not limited to, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok, Facebook and more. We are looking for a leader with significant experience in production, writing, scripting, editing and design. The ideal candidate will be a trendsetter and pop cultural know-it-all, willing to bring fresh perspectives in how we entertain, inform and influence our audiences with compelling and engaging entertainment news, headlines and reports. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment in a role that is equal parts creative, strategic, technical and collaborative. They will have proven experience leading teams in creating content that stands out amongst the increasingly crowded social spaces we operate in.  They are informed, curious and always willing to learn and evolve. They have great taste and are obsessed with celebrity culture and entertainment storytelling.

  • Shape the editorial direction of Etalk’s digital and social calendar and productions, delivering on the brand’s overall mandate and revenue goals, as well as Bell Media’s strategic vision.
  • Oversee the editorial output for our digital & social entertainment coverage ensuring each post meets our high standards of excellence and is as diverse and representative as our unique Canadian audience. 
  • Ensure all digital content is timely, accurate and embodies the voice and tone of Etalk.
  • Manage, build and coach a diverse team of producers, writers, freelancers and independent content creators.
  • Develop a digital newsroom workflow to ensure teams produces the best coverage in the most efficient and creative manner.
  • Influence and engage across teams in establishing social media guidelines, governance, and best practices for our content, growth and publishing strategies on existing and emerging platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date and support all Bell Media entertainment and lifestyle programming priorities through creative editorial and promotions.
  • Monitor content performance and optimize accordingly to ensure platforms meet and exceed monthly targets.
  • Create benchmarks and KPIs to regularly monitor, report and drive scalable learnings.
  • Lead content brainstorms and creative production meetings.
  • Keep on top of industry news, trends and digital innovations.
  • Write copy and headlines, and develop social templates and creative.
  • Produce social media reports and presentations.
  • Keep projects on track through clear task lists, and effectively communicate project issues and resolutions to leadership.

  • 7+ years of relevant editorial experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading an editorial team, in person or virtually, with proven ability to launch ambitious, innovative digital content strategies that drive creativity and engagement.
  • Degree in journalism, communications, English or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills, with significant experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data and Power Point (or equivalent) in preparing presentations.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and projects at any given time, while upholding creative output in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment, with multiple stakeholders and challenging timelines.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with previous experience utilizing cloud-based workplace collaboration tools and platforms.
  • Deep understanding of the native analytics tools across all major social media platforms with a solid understanding of KPIs and industry benchmarks. Experience with Omniture, Dash Hudson and Google Analytics considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and available to periodically work outside of typical office hours.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or other creative production platforms.
  • Experience with creative agencies with an understanding of creative development and production.
  • Notable editorial sensibility with high content standards and attention to detail.
  • Passionate interest in celebrity and pop-culture, music, television, and entertainment and up-to-date with the latest news, trends and discussions.
  • Positive, proactive and collaborative team player and leader.
  • Certifications for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Google Analytics considered an asset.
  • Established contact list of independent writers and multi-platform content creators and contributors considered an asset.


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
