The BRS Market Planning and Forecasting team will assist with subscriber forecasting, performance analysis and market planning for the consumer wireline segment. Working with partners in finance, pricing, operations, and sales and marketing functions, the market planning and forecasting analyst will work on market segment analysis and maintaining accurate forecast models for wireline products (Internet, TV, and Home Phone). This position calls for a detail oriented person with strengths in market analysis, forecasting, and performance management. Responsibilities will include market planning, competition and industry benchmarking, and forecasting of key drivers (activations and churn) for consumer wireline products.

The successful candidate is an energetic and enthusiastic team player with a history of collaborating with numerous partners and cross-functional teams to achieve results. They have prior experience in the cable/telecom industry and well developed forecasting, business intelligence and market analysis experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing market research and identifying & sizing market opportunities
  • Competition analysis and industry benchmarking
  • Sourcing internal and external data & research to assist with planning needs
  • Development, monitoring and updating of market and subscriber forecast models
  • Analyzing and forecasting impact from current and planned marketing activities
  • Preparing and presenting forecasts and analysis to senior leadership team
  • Provide input to planning, business planning and budgeting exercises

 

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • University degree in business, finance, economics, computer science, marketing, engineering or a related area; MBA or professional designation (CA, CPA, CFA) preferred
  • 3+ years experience in financial analysis, market planning or forecasting roles, specifically in the telecommunications industry
  • Strength in market analysis, forecasting, and business analytics
  • Solid business analytics, financial acumen and problem solving combined with a strong ability to synthesize data to tell a story that enables  informed decision making    
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Curiosity, rigor, creativity and imagination in seeking answers to complex questions
  • Ability to build compelling, executive-level presentations and to deliver recommendations with confidence
  • Excellent problem solving  and ability to transform raw data into actionable insights and build robust forecasting models
  • Strong ability to work with various teams and influence decision-making at various levels of the organization
  • Self-starter, with the ability to manage and drive projects with limited supervision and to manage multiple projects in an organized manner

 

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Advanced BI skillset including knowledge of SAS, Micro strategy, SQL, TERADATA

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
