Position:                               Programming Assistant, Specialty Programming, Bell Media

Job Status:                           Regular Full-Time

Location:                              299 Queen Street West, Toronto (Ontario)

Salary:                                  Group B - Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours of Work:                    40 hours per week. Overtime as required



Specialty Channels is seeking a highly organized, knowledgeable TV aficionado to join its Programming team. The role of the Programming Assistant encompasses many duties including working across multiple Specialty channels with an emphasis on scheduling.


  • Ensure daily schedules are ready for broadcast
  • Perform schedule changes as needed
  • Create and distribute weekly TVE Schedules
  • Create and distribute weekly Restart/Replay Schedules
  • Create and distribute weekly Livestream Schedules
  • Create Program Advisories and track progress through to completion
  • Long-term base schedule rollout
  • Track various scheduling from Conventional, the US and other Broadcast partners
  • Act as a liaison between Programming team, Traffic, Revenue Management, Production, Marketing, Publicity and Promotions
  • Other duties as required



  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, in television preferred
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and be a clear communicator
  • Familiarity with IBMS and/or other scheduling and broadcasting software is an asset
  • Must have a passion for television
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, i.e. Excel and Word
  • Ability to work well under pressure, possess excellent time management skills, be a self-starter, multi-task and meet assigned deadlines




Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
