Summary

We are seeking a Network Security Operations Specialist with hands-on experience and strong troubleshooting skills, along with Operational Support excellence to join the Bell Media Network Operations team.  The position requires a self-motivated individual who has a high degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision while managing multiple projects, and can prioritize, meet deadlines, and find ways to improve on day-to-day activities
This candidate must have strong organizational skills to interact with Business and Technology stakeholders, including vendor partners, and be able to execute using open/agile methodologies for support and secure implementation of new media technologies and solutions.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, support, and maintain network security infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot network, security, and operational issues.
  • Manage incidents, problems, service requests, and change requests.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Support the deployment and secure implementation of new technologies and solutions.
  • Assess and communicate risks affecting network and security services.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices, network segmentation, and firewall standards.
  • Support enterprise security services such as patching, endpoint protection, encryption, PKI, and Active Directory.
  • Analyze recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting and automation tools.
  • Maintain documentation for incidents, procedures, configurations, and changes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24/7 operational support coverage.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain service reliability and security.Support network and security infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle activities.

  • A resource who is able to identify, record, document and categorize incidents, problems, service and change requests.
  • A team player who can define, establish and convey their vision about potential risks to services and who can adapt to evolving infrastructure.
  • Someone who, through teamwork, can breakdown and resolve process/system problems and provide a modular and easily sustainable solution.
  • A transformational agent who will challenge the status quo and seek for higher level of service excellence.
  • A candidate with well-honed communication abilities, solid writing skills, a strong sense of priorities, and tolerance to stress (A good sense of humour is an asset!).
  • A resource who participates with their team to provide 24/7 coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in telecommunications, computer science or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of an enterprise environment relating to security such as patch management, endpoint security programs, client health and securing operational workflows.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Security Services including Patching, Anti-Virus/IPS, Encryption, PKI, Active Directory,...
  • In-depth knowledge of legacy and IP networks including advanced protocols in Routing (BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and Switching (STP, MLAG, VSS, VPC).
  • Familiarity in Broadcast technologies is an asset such as PTP, SMPTE 2110, SRT encode/decode, Multicasting for Audio & Video, etc.
  • Experienced with network & security devices e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Juniper, Arista, etc., and knowledgeable with security zoning, network segmentation and firewall/DMZ principles that keeps the network secure.
  • Familiar with Git repository and scripting tool such as Ansible with intent to automate reoccurring tasks.

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
