The Product team within BRSB is at the forefront of new product innovation and enhancements to Bell’s TV and Internet services. The success of our products and services is also dependent on our ability to deploy our state of the art network to maximize our reach and competitiveness.

Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this leadership position is a central and highly visible role that requires a strong business acumen. Acting as team lead, this senior manager will oversee footprint strategy relating to both fixed wireless and fibre to the home deployments for both residential and small business portfolios. The position requires a knowledge of network economics and market dynamics to prioritize scarce capital to achieve the best possible ROI. Maintaining a pulse on the dynamics of tier 1 competitors as well as small fibre/WISP companies is critical to the overall success of our business. The role also requires analyzing various subsidy programs offered at all levels of government and having the ability to assess the financial implications possible bids.

The successful candidate must have the ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders in network and marketing organizations to ensure timely and transparent communication across our business.

Job Duties/ Accountabilities:
The Senior Product Manager will report to the Director of Internet NPI and Footprint Strategy within the BRSB Product Management organization. Deliverables will include:

  • Leading Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and Wireless-to-the-home (WTTH) planning and prioritization activities through profitability and ROI analysis.
  • Proactively gather intelligence and provide recommendations on Network deployment strategy based on competitors information.
  • Ownership of YEE and LRP Footprint forecasts to cross-functional teams.
  • Provide market and financial analysis on current competition levels and future competition levels.
  • Tracking and prioritizing threats from traditional and emerging competitors, and providing an action plan when market changes occur.
  • Summarizing conclusions and recommendations in concise and compelling documents for presentations to senior executives.
  • Assist withTake-to-Market teams with deployment facts, charts and maps.
  • Leading footprint operations: Network qualification, network embargo and qualification improvement initiatives.
  • Managing NPI projects related to qualification improvements for residential and small business internet and IPTV products.

 

Critical Qualifications/ Competencies

  • A university degree, ideally in engineering or business.
  • Prior experience in Business case/financial analysis.
  • Previous experience Telecom, ideally in the Network or Residential services
  • Excellent problem solving skills and track record of strong analysing capabilities.
  • SQL or Python programming skills are an asset
  • Knowledge of Map info software is an asset
  • Superior attention to detail and execution skills, with an ability to take initiative and get the job done.
  • Proven ability to learn  new technologies.
  • Strong  communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
  • An MBA is a strong asset
  • Experience with market research or financial analysis
  • Knowledge of overall business strategy and operations including business processes, revenue and cost components and drivers of these measures
  • Experience with Internet access technology; wireline (cable vs Fibre) and Wireless
  • A history of working on large, cross-functional projects across an organization.|

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
