Summary

We are seeking a Senior Technical Architect for Connectivity Infrastructure to join our Connectivity Infrastructure Centre of Excellence (CoE). In this role, you will lead solution architecture for large-scale wireline connectivity initiatives across Bell AI Fabric, Bell Business Markets (BBM), and Bell Wholesale. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning multiple business units including AI Fabric, BBM/Wholesale, Network, Finance, Real Estate, and Corporate Strategy while serving as the technical lead for designing and delivering large-scale Wavelength, Internet, and Dark Fibre solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of technical and business professionals in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, driving impactful connectivity solutions across Bell’s enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural vision, solution design, cost analysis, and technical documentation in collaboration with the Network, Product Management, and Finance teams.
  • Partner with account executives and customer solution engineers to sell large-scale connectivity solutions under the BBM and Wholesale umbrella.
  • Develop capacity forecasts collaboratively with Network and Product Management teams to inform short-term and long-term planning in alignment with Network long-range planning, triggering network builds based on applicable
  • business cases.  
  • Partner with Finance teams to construct the financial forecast, encompassing revenues and CAPEX.
  • Guides teams through complex challenges by posing insightful questions, stimulating critical analysis, and driving effective solutions.
  • Encourages a culture of continuous improvement by experimenting with new approaches and supporting team members in trying innovative solutions..
  • Offers expert advice and support to colleagues, fostering professional growth and development within the team.

Critical Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in solution architecture and/or technical sales.
  • Sound architectural understanding and/or technical hands-on experience with various technologies and products in at least two of the following network domains:
    o    Optical transport systems (Wavelength)
    o    Dark fibre
    o    Large-scale Internet transit (including BGP, peering)
  • Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and short deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience or Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Previous telecommunications experience in a B2B, service provider environment is an asset – especially in any of the following domains: local exchange carriers (ILEC/CLEC), Internet service providers (ISP), mobile carriers, cloud hyperscalers, or data centres.
  • Financial acumen with good understanding of corporate finance concepts: revenue, EBITDA, CAPEX, OPEX, Free Cash Flow.

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
