Summary
We are seeking a highly accomplished and experienced Senior Technical Architect II to join our Bell MediaTV team. This technical leadership role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of video origins and packagers, cloud computing, security, software architecture, DevOps, and a proven ability to design, implement, and maintain highly complex, large-scale solutions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who can independently drive initiatives, mentor others, and contribute significantly to the overall success of our technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze business drivers and requirements to design and develop future-state architecture capabilities for complex and large-scale solutions.
- Lead the design and development of resilient, sophisticated and scalable solution architectures, ensuring alignment with business needs and long-term technology vision.
- Select and recommend appropriate technologies and tools, justifying choices based on technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and future scalability.
- Integrate diverse components of complex, large-scale solutions, ensuring seamless functionality and high performance.
- Oversee the deployment of complex solution architectures, managing risks and ensuring a smooth transition to production environments.
- Provide architectural leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation to drive long-term roadmaps, including diagrams, specifications, and implementation plans.
- Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Proactively identify and address complex technical challenges, implementing innovative solutions to overcome obstacles.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for deployed solutions, resolving escalated issues and ensuring system stability.

Critical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a technical architect role or equivalent, with a demonstrated history of successfully delivering complex, large-scale solutions.
- Intermediate certifications in cloud architecture or computing (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and networking (e.g., CCNA, CCNP). GCP experience and advanced certifications preferred.
- Advanced understanding of business acumen and the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, methodologies (SAFe, Agile, Waterfall, DevOps), and related concepts.
- Extensive experience designing and documenting software solutions using various architectural diagrams and notations (UML, etc.).
- Proven experience working with a wide variety of software and hardware technologies, including on-premise and cloud-based environments.
- Advanced knowledge of security best practices and compliance regulations (e.g., SOC 2).
- Advanced expertise in DevOpsSec principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.
- Strong proficiency in cloud computing architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, BaaS, CaaS and FaaS and experience with serverless technologies.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and leadership skills to drive innovative, critical and forward thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
