Objectives:

Reporting to the Director, Digital Planning & Delivery and will be responsible for managing video products and strategy to determine which distribution methods, players, apps, and technologies will best meet customer needs and realize new business opportunities. You will have a seat at the executive table and influence how we execute on our strategic priority of expanding media leadership and investing in digital platforms that meet the needs of today and tomorrow. You’ll be working on projects that are highly visible, and business-critical.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Be the subject matter lead in determining how Bell Media executes and integrates its overall digital strategy for video across all banners and brands
  • Take ownership of all digital and video apps integration plans
  • Drive cross-platform roadmaps for the video product lines including VCMS, video playback, rights, distribution and players
  • Champion innovation to deliver high quality and engaging video products and players that offer great user experience
  • Lead a team of product managers, engineers, developers, UX, scrum masters and product owners in both direct and indirect reporting structures
  • Partner with the Ad Operations team to support ad sales with strategies including integration of viewability analytics, DAI, and header bidding
  • Leverage A/B testing and digital analytics to inform product development decisions
  • Improve workflows pertaining to content and distribution
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams from, web, production to content management teams
  • Build relationships with studio CTOs, EVPs and SVPs reviewing content contracts; offering advice to legal, negotiating terms with studios and providing feedback to the Bell Media Executive Team


Qualifications:

  • A visionary leader who has 8-10 years experience in executing digital strategy roadmaps across multiple brands or banners (ideally within the media environment)
  • Possess an ability to blend business knowledge and technical expertise to grow the digital product space
  • Passionate about problem solving and producing insights
  • Previously demonstrated experience focusing on platforms to enhance audience generation, mobile, video, data gathering, and media monetization
  • Possess a strong understanding of content metadata and management (CMS) and client side system integration management systems (desktop, mobile and gaming consoles),video encoding, streaming technologies and player products
  • Support multiple agile delivery teams with technical product management and architecture
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Possess a track record of driving results
  • Experience leading and inspiring a high performance team and culture
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Media industry experience considered a significant asset
  • Familiarity with Strategyzer, Aha!, Confluence, and Jira, an asset

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
