  • Bachelor or Master of engineering
  • Bachelor or Master of electrical or computer engineering or computer science (preferred)
  • Bachelor or Master in telecommunications/network engineering (preferred)




Network and Technologies (preferred)


  • L2: Ethernet, VPLS, ATM
  • L3: TCP/IP, MPLS


Software (preferred)


  • OS (UNIX/Linux, Windows (optional)




  • Any RDBMS (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc)


Programming and markup languages


  • Any OO language (C++, Java, Javascript, Python, etc)
  • Any procedural language (C, Perl, etc)
  • Any markup language (HTML + CSS, XML, SGML, etc)
  • Enterprise application frameworks (.NET, Java EE, etc)




  • Experience building or customizing multi-tiered applications




  • Strong analytical skills (ability to quickly determine the problem space and organize it into simple components)
  • Strong technical writing skills (ability to write clearly and concisely)
  • Strong modeling skills (ability to convert abstract concepts into concrete models)
  • Strong development skills (ability to write simple, elegant and robust code)




Job descriptions and responsibilities


The group is responsible for building, enhancing and maintaining the network inventory systems for L1 and L2 networks.


  • Participate in the planning and design of new network technologies, protocols and functionalities with the Technology Development group
  • Write a conceptual solution for the network inventory OSS
  • Write and review the system requirements specification for the implementation of a given network technology or function within the network inventory OSS
  • Actively participate in the design and the implementation phases (including design reviews and code reviews)
  • Define the test plan and oversee the execution of the test cases


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
