Summary

Position: Video Producer/Editor, Bell Media Studios (UNIFOR 723M))
Location: 299 Queen St W. Toronto   
Salary: Unifor 723M, Group G – Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overtime and weekend shifts as required

Job Description

Bell Media Studios is seeking a skilled Video Producer/Editor with extensive experience in broadcast and digital video content creation. The role involves strategizing, producing, and editing video content across shows, including Your Morning, The Good Stuff with Mary Berg, The Social, and Etalk for YouTube. You will work closely with each show’s Executive Producer to repurpose existing content and create original mid- and long-form videos specifically for YouTube, following best practices for the platform.

Responsabilities:

  • Collaborate with show EPs to develop and execute YouTube content strategies.
  • Produce new show content and repurpose for YouTube.
  • Ensure content aligns with YouTube's best practices: compelling openings, engaging narratives, custom thumbnails, chapters, playlists, clearance rights
  • Manage all aspects of video production, including editing for clarity and pacing, balancing audio, and adding captions and graphics
  • Repackage digital content to maintain high quality across other social media platforms 
  • Produce content in the field, directing crew on location as needed
  • Handle post-production tasks, including motion graphics and cuts, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional video editing using Avid Media Composer and Avid MediaCentral Cloud UX.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast workflows and digital content strategy
  • Experience creating content optimized for YouTube, focusing on mid- and long-form formats
  • Excellent project management skills, juggling multiple tasks and maintaining clear communication across various teams
  • Strong familiarity with Bell Media Studios’ shows and its on-air roster: Your Morning, The Good Stuff with Mary Berg, The Social, and Etalk.
  • Possess an initiative-taking personality, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills and experience dealing with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven editorial sensibilities with high standards and attention to detail    
  • Degree or Diploma in Television Broadcasting, Journalism, Digital, Film or related
  • Bilingualism is an asset
