Position:  News Writer Producer, Bell Media

Job status:  Regular Part Time

Location: CTV Winnipeg

Salary: Unifor Local 816, Group XV. Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Hours of Work: 25 hours per week, additional hours and overtime as required

Responsibilities:     

  • Write news scripts, intros and all show elements
  • Co-ordinate resources for live breaking news
  • Contributing scripts, video, and pictures to the station’s on-line content
  • Back-up show producer
  • Preparing and supervising graphic elements
  • Produce show segments
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:         

  • Experience as a newsroom reporter, writer, or show producer
  • Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary broadcast program or related television news experience
  • Proven editorial news judgment with high journalistic standards
  • Solid understanding of broadcast law
  • In depth knowledge of news and current affairs
  • Ability to lead a team and motivate staff
  • Superior communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Creative writing skills
  • Ability to make quick decisions and thrive in a deadline-driven, team environment
  • Live control room experience an asset
  • In depth knowledge of and interest in news and current affairs
